Jackie’s Royal is a 1.49 carat natural Winton boulder opal, named in honour of Jackie, who, along with John were the very first generation of opal miners in our family.
And perhaps fittingly, this little beauty shows off a gorgeous royal blue (she is our English Rose after all), with flashes of aqua dancing across the face.
A smoky line of natural potch runs through the stone, peppered with fine ironstone, adding depth and character.
Finished with a beautifully rounded, domed freeform shape. We can picture this one looking fantastic in a claw or prong-style setting, where the colour around the edges can remain visible and become part of the design rather than being hidden beneath a bezel.
